H. John Breuer, Jr., 81, of Ellwood City passed away on Monday, March 18, 2023, at WellBrooke of Avon in Indianapolis, IN. The following is an obituary written by his loving family.
H. John Breuer, Jr. was the son of the late Harold J. and Edna M. (Bloomer) Breuer and was born April 20, 1942, in North Sewickley Twp.
He is survived by his daughter; Jane Holt and her husband John of Fairview Heights, IL, his sons; Keith E. Breuer and his wife Rhonda of New Galilee, Eric J. Breuer of New Castle, and his grandchildren; Sofia, Isabella, Grace, Benjamin, Aaron, and Mila Breuer, along with a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
John was a 1960 graduate of Lincoln High School. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the US Air Force serving proudly for 8 years. Upon returning from the service, he worked for R.C. Cola Bottling, Co as a salesman and delivery driver. He was also the owner/operator of his own beer distributorship in Monaca, in the early 1970’s. He was also a longtime employee Gelfo Distributing.He met and married the love of his life; Ruth Bernd on July 24, 1971, and they were married for 41 years until her passing in 2012. He was a huge Pittsburgh sports fan and loved the Steelers, Pirates and Penguins. More than anything, John was a loving husband and he and Ruth were inseparable.
He was preceded in death by his wife; Ruth Bernd, sisters; Joann Kohlmann and her husband Warren, Ellen Pishioneri and her husband James.
Friends may call on the family on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 2pm-4pm and 6-8pm at Turner Funeral & Cremation Services. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 11:00AM with Dr. Bobby Griffith, officiating, at Turner’s. The Veteran’s Honor Guard will render Military Honors immediately preceding the funeral service.
Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations be made in John’s name to the Ellwood City Library located at 415 Lawrence Ave in Ellwood City.

Local arrangements are entrusted to Eric M. D. Bell Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Pittsboro, Indiana.
