Adam Bennett Poppa, 40 of Avon, IN, passed away unexpectedly, August 3, 2017 in his home.
Adam was born December 19, 1976 in Indianapolis and was a 1995 graduate of Tri-West High School, where he was a well-known athlete. He was the loving father of one son, Andrew Poppa. He was passionate about his son’s athletics, and could often be found at his games, acting as an assistant coach, or on occasion even calling games as the announcer.
In addition to his son, Andrew he is survived by his rock and unfailing significant other, Jacqueline Thompson; parents, Allen (Gloria) Poppa and Denise (Bob) Foster; sisters, Dawn (Mike) Miller, Keli Foster (Eric Sanford), and Kari (Mitsuaki) Shimizu; brother, Aaron Poppa; grandmothers, Evelyn Bane and Elbertine Crowe; Jacqueline’s grandmother, Keya Thomas; nephews, Connor, Bryce, Tomoyuki, Calvin, and Taiyo, and his loyal fur-baby, Reggie
Friends and family will gather from 4 pm until 7 pm, Wednesday, August 9 in the David A. Hall Mortuary, 220 N. Maple Street, Pittsboro, IN, where a brief Service of Remembrance will follow the gathering time at 7:30 pm.
A private burial will be in the K of P Cemetery in Lizton, IN.
The Poppa and Foster families respectfully request, in lieu of flowers, any memorial gifts be directed to Raymond James Investments, where the education foundation is established for his son, Andrew.
