Arnold Myers

Arnold E. Myers, 82 of Brownsburg passed away peacefully, September 27, 2017.

Arnie was born, September 8, 1935 in Marco, IN to the late Clifford and Alberta (Lambright) Myers. Following his graduation from Linton High School, he served his county in the United States Army. On October 20, 1956, he married the love of his life, Retha (Davis) Myers, a union which would last over 60 years until his passing. He had a long and distinguished career as an Engineer with Indiana Bell.  He was a member of the Lodge #539 F & AM and the American Legion Post #331.

He was an avid outdoors-man and passionate athlete. It was through his love of athletics that he left a significant impact on his community. A dedicated and positive influence to community youth, he started countless programs, and served on many boards guiding children to their full potential. Arnie is fondly remembered as never finding anything but the best in others.

In addition to his beloved wife, Retha, he is survivors include his sons, Steve, Christopher (wife Mickie), Michael (wife Leslie); daughter, Jody (husband Stuart) Lanford; brothers, Tom (wife Sue) Myers; and sister, Linda (husband Wesley) Corbin; nine grandchildren, and eight grandchildren.

A Celebration of his life with Military Honors, will be held at 1 pm, Sunday, October 8 in the Brownsburg American Legion Post #331, where a reception will follow until 4 pm. A Private Inurnment Service will occur at a later date.

It is suggested memorial gifts be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, in lieu of flowers.

The entire Myers family wishes to extend gratitude to all who have assisted them during this difficulty time, especially the staff of Brownsburg Health Care and Kindred Hospice.
