Becky Gibbons

Becky Sue Gibbons, 74, Pittsboro, IN, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 11:25 pm onTuesday, December 6, 2021 at Hendricks Regional Health in Brownsburg surrounded by her family.

She was a resident of Pittsboro for over 30 years and formally a resident of Lebanon.

She was a member of the Pittsboro Methodist Church and Pittsboro Christian Church. She was also a member of the Phi Beta Psi sorority.

Becky was born July 27,1947 in Bedford. Indiana to Marion Franklin and Vivian Marie Guthrie.

She graduated from Granville Wells High School in 1966.

Becky was a lady of many skills and occupations. She waitressed at Frank and Mary's in Pittsboro for many years. She also would clean houses in the area, as well as working at Hoosier Village in Zionsville. She most recently had been a caregiver to several residents in the area. She enjoyed planning meals and the casual conversations that she had with all of her friends. She had a tremendous heart and was always trying to help others whenever she could.

She loved to be with her family and enjoyed welcoming them into her home whenever possible. She loved to send greeting cards to her grandchildren for any occasion. She enjoyed making cakes for weddings and special occasions, or a cake to enjoy with family. She loved to cook, especially with her kitchen gadgets and cookbooks. She had a laugh that was infectious and enjoyed going to bingo with friends.

On January 16, 1978, she married Ronald "Monk" Gibbons, whom she met while she was working at Frank and Mary's. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2019.

She is survived by a son Sean (Joyce) Richman of Crawfordsville; a daughter Sonja Hamner of Pittsboro; her grandchildren, Amber Alexander of Brownsburg, Nicholas Hamner of Pittsboro, and Anthony Richman and Mitchell Richman of Crawfordsville; her great-grandchildren Akyra Alexander and Tre Alexander of Brownsburg; her sisters-in-law, Patricia Guthrie, Marsha Guthrie, Dorothy Guthrie, Kim Aduks, and Vicki Testerman: her brother-in-law Ronald Artman; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Donald Keith Guthrie, Ronald Kent Guthrie, Michael Lee Guthrie, and Betty Lou Artman. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Friends and family will gather at Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home in Pittsboro, Indiana on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 12 pm until the time of the funeral service at 2 pm.  Following the service, Becky will be laid to rest in K of P Cemetery in Lizton, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Phi Beta Psi Sorority of Pittsboro, Indiana.
