Brian Eric Hume

December 21, 1968 — September 16, 2019

Brian Hume, 50 of North Salem, passed away on September 16, 2019 after a courageous battle with brain cancer.  Brian was born on December 21, 1968 to Donald and Donelda (Burris) Hume in Lebanon, Indiana.  He married Dawn Hume (Click) on December 11, 2001, a loving union that would last until his passing.  They have two beloved children, Garrett and Breanna.

Brian obtained two bachelor’s degrees, a psychology degree from Butler University and a teaching degree from Indiana University.  He was a loving stay-at-home father, a dedicated coach, a 4-H Leader, and a member of Venture Church.  He loved to cook and it wasn’t unusual to come home and find a fresh-baked pumpkin pie on the counter.  He was a huge fan of all things Disney and decorating and dressing up at Halloween.

In addition to his loving wife, Dawn, Brian is survived by his children, Garrett and Breanna; his brother, John (Cindy) Hume; and his mother, Donelda Hume.  He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Hume.

Although flowers are appreciated, memorial gifts are encouraged to the American Brain Tumor Association.

Visitation will be Sunday, September 22, 2019, in the David A. Hall Mortuary in Pittsboro, where friends and family will gather from 2pm until 4pm.
