Carole Purvis Alexander, 86 of Avon, Indiana passed away peacefully, July 29, 2018 in the Villages of Avon.
Mrs. Alexander was born, August 20, 1931 in Plainfield, New Jersey to the late Matthew and Beulah (Schaub) Purvis. She earned her undergraduate degree from Davis and Elkins College and a master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh and Indiana Central College. In addition to being a homemaker to her family, she worked alongside her husband Jack William Alexander at their family business, Fotolab.
She was a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, the Daughters of the American Revolution where she was Past-President of the Indianapolis Chapter, and the Chi Omega Sorority. She was an avid Home Decorator.
Survivors include her loving children, Art Alexander and Licia (husband Jim) Mendenhall and sister, Lucy Ford.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack Alexander and brother, Robert Purvis.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:30 pm, August 11, 2018 in the David A. Hall Mortuary, Pittsboro, IN, where friends and family will gather from 1 pm until the time of the Service.
Memorial gifts have been suggested to St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church.
