Dave Nelson

David B. Nelson, 76, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2025, with his loved ones by his side.

Dave was a 1966 graduate of Pittsboro High School.

In his career, he worked for Allison’s (Manager), Gregory’s Furniture Store, Antique Mall (Manager), Pittsboro Golf Course (Manager), and Trent Electric Illuminations (Manager). 

He was kind, compassionate, and had a great sense of humor. Dave was an avid collector of “Coca Cola” items, old albums, and other memorabilia. 

He loved his family and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He encouraged everyone to reach for their dreams and was proud of their accomplishments.

Dave (PO) will be greatly missed but will forever be in our hearts.

Dave is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Joni Saunders; son, Chris Nelson (Jill); granddaughters, Ashlee Thompson, Kelsee Tucker (Jordan), and Zoe Nelson; grandson, Chase Nelson; great-grandchildren, Graylan and Emma Thompson and Wesley “David” and Cameron Tucker; sister, Judi Snyder; best friend, Jerry Schaekel; brothers, Jeff Nelson (Joy) of Orlando, Florida and Mark Nelson of Danville, Indiana. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Eugene "Gene" Nelson and Mary Wolf, as well as his brother, Ronald Nelson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home in Pittsboro, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.  The funeral service will begin at 1:00 pm.  Dave will be laid to rest following the funeral service in K of P Cemetery in Lizton, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Phi Beta Psi Sorority or Pittsboro Christian Church.
