Dorothy Lee McClung, 91 of Pittsboro, IN passed away peacefully, August 4, in her daughter’s home, surrounded by her large and loving family.
Mrs. McClung was born June 18, 1927 in Pittsboro to Charles and Ruth (Seymour) Swain. She was a 1945 graduate of Pittsboro High School, she also earned her Beautician’s License.
Dorothy married Franklin Millard McClung on May 4, 1951, a loving union that would last over 67 years until her passing with him at her side. Dorothy was a loving farm wife and homemaker to her family and will be famously remembered for her delicious pies at Frank and Mary’s in Pittsboro. She was a long-time member and Deacon of the Pittsboro Christian Church, belonged to the Queen Esther Class and the Homemakers Club.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Donna (husband Larry) Herring, daughter-in-law, Gina McClung; son-in-law, Melvin Landrum; grandchildren, Jason (wife Angela) McCoy, Joshua (wife Samantha) McClung, Gloria (husband Bobby) Denson, Ryan McClung, Alex (wife Samantha) Herring, and Erin Herring; eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Robert McClung, Janet Landrum, and Ronnie McClung.
Friends and family will gather from 4 until 8 pm, Tuesday, August 7, in the David A. Hall Mortuary, Pittsboro, IN. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, August 8 in the Pittsboro Christian Church. Burial will follow in the K of P Cemetery in Lizton, Indiana.
Memorial gifts have been suggested to Pittsboro Christian Church.
