Franklin Millard Mcclung

Franklin Millard McClung, 94 of Pittsboro, IN passed away peacefully, August 25, in his daughter’s home, surrounded by his large and loving family.

Mr. McClung was born January 25, 1924 in Pittsboro to Frank and Elizabeth “Edna” (Haynes) McClung. He was a 1942 graduate of Pittsboro High School. He was a lifetime farmer and was a well-loved School Bus Driver.

Frank married Dorothy (Swain) on May 4, 1951, a loving union that would last over 67 years until her passing, only three weeks prior to his own, with him by her side.  He was a long-time member and Deacon of the Pittsboro Christian Church.

Survivors include his loving daughter and caregiver, Donna (husband Larry) Herring; daughter-in-law, Gina McClung; son-in-law, Melvin Landrum; grandchildren, Jason (wife Angela) McCoy, Joshua (wife Samantha) McClung, Gloria (husband Bobby) Denson, Ryan McClung, Alex (wife Samantha) Herring, and Erin Herring; eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to his parents and beloved wife, he was preceded in death by his children, Robert McClung, Janet Landrum, and Ronnie McClung, and siblings, Randolph McClung, Mildred Edlin, Jane Shirley, Tom McClung, Donald McClung, and Laurel McClung.

Friends and family will gather from 4 until 7 pm, Tuesday, August 28, in the David A. Hall Mortuary, Pittsboro, IN. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, August 29 in the Pittsboro Christian Church. Burial will follow in the K of P Cemetery in Lizton, Indiana.
