Hugh (Pop) Avery Fisher

On May 22, 2016, HUGH (POP) FISHER, age 81, passed away.

Born on November 9, 1934 in Bastrop, Louisiana the son of Avery and Florence (Jones) Fisher. He married Peggy L. Waggoner on June 28, 1952 in Orange, TX and she preceded him in death.

Hugh was an Air Force Veteran and served in the Korea War. He was a heavy equipment operator for Brown & Root and a Pastor at River Terrace Baptist Church in Channelview, TX.

Hugh is survived by his sons, James and Michael Fisher; daughter, Glynda Robbins (Daniel B.); sister, Mary Holt; seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, son Hugh Allen Fisher; one brother and two sisters.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26 from 12 Noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Pittsboro Baptist Church with the Service to follow.
