James I. Dugan

James Ivan Dugan, 77 of Maplewood, IN, passed away peacefully and went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday, October 20, 2018, surrounded by his large and loving family. He had a lengthy and challenging struggle with PSP.

Jim was born November 23, 1940 at home in Maplewood, Indiana to the late Lowell Carey “Jack” and Velda (Russell) Dugan.

Jim lived in Hendricks County most of his life, with the majority of that time in Maplewood. He was a 1958 graduate of Pittsboro High School, where he played basketball, ran track, and participated in school plays and many other activities. Jim was employed in the plumbing and heating field and then at American Airlines for 25 years until his retirement in 1998.

Jim was a member of Your Venture Church in Lizton, Indiana and had a powerful faith and was ready to meet his Lord.

He enjoyed working around his ten acres. He loved tractors, woodworking, and all “the critters” on his farm. However, above all he dearly loved his family and friends and was happiest during holidays and family gatherings, especially at Christmas.

Survivors include his loving wife of over 53 years, Ramonette (Ford) Dugan; children, Dianna Lane, James E. Dugan, and Robert S. (wife Jamie) Dugan; siblings, Carol Fred and Steve Dugan; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Gayle and Marilyn.

Friends and family will gather from 4pm until 7 pm, Thursday, October 25 in the David A. Hall Mortuary, Pittsboro. Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Friday, October 26, in Your Venture Church, officiated by his son, Pastor Rob Dugan. He will be laid to rest in the New Maysville Cemetery.

It is suggested that memorial gifts be directed to the Your Venture Church Building Fund.
