James A. Vincent

James A. Vincent, 88 of Danville, Indiana, peacefully passed away on September 20, 2023.  The following is an obituary written by his loving family.

James (Jim) Allen Vincent was born May 29, 1935, in Whetstone, Kentucky. He peacefully passed away on September 20, 2023, in Danville, Indiana. He is the son of Fred and Sally Vincent. Jim was the middle child of thirteen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Sally Vincent and siblings, Ruth, Ira, Dollie, Ines, Thelma, Bennie, Naydine and Nancy. His surviving siblings are Betty, Linda, Gary and Connie. He married the love of his life, Carolyn Ann Vincent, on September 15,1956, in Louisville, Kentucky at the Shawnee Church of Christ.  He worked for Faucet Dearing in bindery and advanced throughout his career to pressman. Jim and Carolyn moved to Indiana shortly after marriage and he continued his career in the printing business and retired from Moler Printing in Indianapolis, Indiana. Jim and Carolyn were blessed with three children:  Carolyn Jean Taylor, Jimmaleah June Henry and Gary Joe Vincent.  Jim and Carolyn planned family vacations and camping every year, and as a family they enjoyed seeing most of the United States. Jim was also a grandfather to six grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Jim was a devoted father, husband and Christian. He was devoted to God and a member of The Church of Christ, Western Star Masonic Lodge No.26 and a lifetime member of The Scottish Rite. He was a handyman extraordinaire and could fix just about anything.

Friends and family will gather at Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home in Pittsboro, Indiana, on Friday, October 13, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, with the memorial service beginning at 4:00 pm.
