James Robert Barnette, 81 of Pittsboro, Indiana, peacefully passed away on March 29, 2022, with his loving family by his side. James Robert was born on May 5, 1940, in Kingsport, Tennessee to James Henry and Lona Viola (Harrison) Barnette. He was a jack-of-all-trades and a NASCAR-loving car enthusiast who enjoyed working on vehicles both in his own garage and in his career as a skilled Millwright for Chevrolet. He was also a Pittsboro Baptist Church member and loved his family dearly.
In addition to his parents, James Robert was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Barnette Morelock.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Debra (Debbie) Barnette; brother, Harold (wife Jackie) Barnette; his children, Amy (husband Mike) Bramblett and James H. Barnette; his grandchildren, Katelyn (husband Ryan) Fruchtnicht, Courtney Chandler (significant other T.J. Schrage), Kira Bramblett, Korbin Bramblett, Georgia Barnette, and Jordan Stacy; and his great-grandchildren, Kyndall, Liam, Kynzley, Paislee, and Kamdyn.
Funeral Services will be held at 1pm. Monday, April 4, 2022 in the Pittsboro Baptist Church, where friends and family will gather from 11 am until the time of the service. James Robert will be laid to rest following the service in K of P Cemetery in Lizton, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
