Jean was born on May 26, 1936 in Anna Illinois to Rev and Mrs. Herman (Edna) McGill. Jean married Douglas N Hornback on December 15, 1958 who proceeded her in death in 2010 until they were reunited together with their heavenly Father on April 29, 2024 upon Jean’s death.

Jean worked in many areas over her 87 years which included a GTE telephone operator after moving to Olney, Shipley’s Tax Service, The Olney Baby Shop and Prairie Farms Dairy where she later retired after¬ 30 years of service.

Jean was a pianist in her churches starting at a very young age. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Olney and later moved to Indiana to be with her children after the death of her husband.

She is survived by her children, Rhonda and Bill Dufilho of Pittsboro. IN and Rick and Twila Hornback of Brownsburg, IN. 4 Grandchildren, Tyler Hornback and wife Emily of Lizton IN, Ryan Dufilho and wife Miriah of Brownsburg IN, Aaron Dufilho of New Ross, IN and Shelby (Hornback) Hull and husband Bailey of Dallas Tx. She was also a very proud Great Grandmother to Lilah Dufilho, Reese Dufilho, and Mac Hornback. Also surviving, sister Erlene Hudson, Union Church MS, bother Larry (Carolyn) McGill, Vienna IL, sister in-law Phyllis (Randy) Fehrenbacher Olney, IL and sister in-law Lou (Jim) Cross Greenup IL as well as several cherished nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death was her husband, parents, brother Jerry McGill, nephews Kevin McGill and Gary Warren, Sister-in-law Bev Warren and brother-in- law Russell Warren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church/Hornback Memorial 430 E Mack Ave, Olney, IL 62450 to be used to purchase a much needed keyboard in her honor.

A private family graveside service was held May 7th, 2024 and she was laid to rest in Crest Haven Mausoleum.
