John Lawson, Sr.

Lizton, Indiana

John Lawson Sr. went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, October 16, 2021.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to so many family and friends.

John was born in Indianapolis on February 11, 1952. In early life John was in the Army from 1969 through 1971 and he met the love of his life, Diane Muse, in February 1976 and married her June 8, 1976. He was saved as a follower of Jesus Christ in 1976 and was never far from his Bible. In his trade of HVAC he created his own business in 1979 but had a passion for cars. He was a race car enthusiast and loved to fabricate new and unusual designs for open wheel racing along with fabricating race cars from retro Indy designs. After retiring from HVAC in 2006 he could be found in his home shop working on his many projects.

His survivors include beloved wife Diane of Lizton, their son John Jr. along with wife Anna and his grandchildren Mikayla, Travis, and Alison. Their son James along with wife Ashley, and his grandson Avery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, through love and marriage, Denny and Juanita Muse and their son Robert Muse.

Diane has requested a small private service at the funeral home but the family will host a Celebration of Life service for his many friends and family on Saturday, October 30, 2021 from 12-5pm with food service from 1-5pm. This event will be at Cochran’s Catering hall at 29 W. Main Street Jamestown, Indiana 46147.

Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Eric MD Bell Funeral Home and Cremation Services, of Pittsboro.
