Judith Battista

November 2, 1957 — March 14, 2022

Brownsburg, Indiana (Formerly)

Judith “Judy” Ann (Reed) Battista, 64, peacefully passed away in her home in Charleston, South Carolina, surrounded by her loving family after a well-fought, courageous battle with cancer, on March 14, 2022. Spending much of her beautiful life in Brownsburg, Indiana and Estero, Florida, Judy was well-loved by all who knew her. She found her best friend and love of her life while working at IBM in Endicott, NY. She retired from IBM as the vice president of software sales for North and South America. Judy and Roger shared a loving marriage full of laughter and adventure for the past 36 years.

She was an amazing mother to four children whom she adored: Tess (Mike) Kenney, Steve (Kerry) Battista, Kim (Andy) McGinnis, and Chris (Lisa) Battista. However, one of her greatest joys in life was being called “Grandma,” “Nonni” and “Ninni” by her 12 grandchildren: Patrick (Amanda) Bradford-Kenney, Joey Kenney; Tyler, Jason, and Kayla Battista; Wakely and Rocco McGinnis; and Shepard and Piper Jude Battista. She is also survived by her mom, Barbara Reed, siblings Dana (Charlie) Page, Jim Reed, and Debbie (Marlin) Heinlein, as well as several nieces and nephews. Judy prayed fervently for her kids, grandkids, family, friends, and former colleagues. She loved to meet and pray over her healthcare providers and other patients from the cancer treatment center. Judy started a relationship with Jesus as a young girl and has faithfully followed Him throughout her life. She is now worshipping her Savior with those who have preceded her to heaven including her dad, Charles Thomas Reed, her granddaughter, Megan Battista and her sister-in-law, Jennifer Reed.
