Judy (Griggs) Berkey

Judy Berkey, 85 of Pittsboro, Indiana, passed away peacefully, February 16, 2024 in Plainfield, Indiana.  Her loving family was by her side. The following is a life story provided by her family.

Judy (Griggs) Berkey was a beautiful and loving wife, mother, and friend.  She was born on June 18, 1938 to Leo and Grace Griggs.  She graduated from Shortridge High School and would later attend Bob Jones University.  She would earn certifications in Library Science and later work at the Indiana State Library.  She married her lifetime love, Donald Berkey, on January 18, 1962.  They would be married for 62 years.  She would have two children, Jeffrey Alan and Gregory Dean.  She also would have two lovely grandchildren, Hannah and Seth Berkey.  She retired from the Brownsburg Bible and Bookstore.

She will always be remembered as a loving and giving person.  Judy Berkey always thought of others first and she had many friends.  She loved the Lord Jesus Christ and we rejoice that she is now in His presence.

Friends and family will gather from 4 until 7pm, Tuesday, February 20, 2024, in the Eric MD Bell Funeral Home, 220 N. Maple Street, Pittsboro.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, February 21, 2024, in her long-time church home, Colonial Hills Baptist Church, 8140 Union Chapel Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46240.

Graveside Committal Services will follow at 2pm, Wednesday, February 21, 2024, in the Lizton K of P Cemetery.
