Keith Dean Kessler

Keith D. Kessler, 81 of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away peacefully, January 28, 2024, in Plainfield, Indiana.  The following is an obituary written by his loving family.

Keith was born June 15, 1942, in Stewardson, Illinois to Oscar and Melva Kessler.  He met the love of his life, Lois, when they both worked for Firestone.  The married on December 11, 1970, and Keith gained eight stepchildren as well.  He was a truck driver for many years before opening his own real estate appraisal business.  During their 46 years of marriage, Keith and his wife enjoyed traveling and following the NASCAR circuit with a group of friends and spending time with their grandkids.  They also spent a few winters in Texas.  He was a member of the Pittsboro Christian Church.

Keith is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lois; his stepsons, Tommy and Roy Pfeifer; his stepdaughter, Kathy Lippard; his brother, Edwin Kessler; his sisters, Betty Ohnesorge and Bonnie Apke; his grandson, Steven Callis; and his great-grandson Donald Lucas Drennan.

He is survived by his brother, Kenneth (Marilyn) Kessler; stepsons, Jerry (Frances) Pfeifer, Ric (Gayle) Pfeifer, and Randy (Judy) Pfeifer; stepdaughters, Carla Callis and Candy Pfeifer; and his sister-in-law, Susie Long.  He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends and family will gather at Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, with the funeral service beginning at 3:00 pm.
