Randall Gowan

July 1, 1965 — November 12, 2021

Danville, Indiana

Randall “Randy” L. Gowan, 56 of Danville, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on November 12, 2021. Randy was born on July 1,1965 in Lafayette, Indiana.  He graduated from Brownsburg High School in 1984 and went on to become a Journeyman Millwright for Local 1003 and 1076 for 32 years, retiring in 2015.  Randy received the United States Department of Labor Certificate of Completion of Apprenticeship.  After retirement, he received his CDL license and drove for various farmers and excavation companies.  He also enjoyed doing fabrication and welding jobs for several local businesses.

Randy was a no frills, “what you see is what you get” kind of guy. He loved the old Country Classics and the old Westerns.  If you knew Randy, you knew he never did anything halfway.  He gave 200% to all that he did.  He never met a stranger and would help anyone.  He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hunting, fishing, and riding four-wheelers.  He had a soft spot in his heart for all animals, especially his dogs, Lucy, Ricky, and Daryl Lee.

Randy married his high school sweetheart, Linda, on October 17, 1987.  They resided in the Danville, Indiana area for most of their married life.  He enjoyed spending time with his large extended family.  Over the years, they took many family vacations together, went houseboating and four-wheeling, and made several trips to Florida.

Randy leaves behind his loving wife of 34 years, Linda (Bramble) Gowan; his parents, Harry and Cheryl Gowan; his brother, Danny Gowan; his sister, Candy Thiel; and a huge extended family, including aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, his mother-in-law, father-in-law, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and many, many friends.

Friends and family will gather at Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home in Pittsboro, Indiana on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 4 pm until 7 pm.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 19, 2021 at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Brownsburg, Indiana at 10:30 am.
