Rebecca “Becky” Tidd passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 25, 2022. She was born September 23, 1942 to Jesse and Constance Robbins in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Becky met and married the love of her life, Donald Tidd, 63 years ago; it was love at first sight for the pair and the rest is history. She loved attending church and was a faithful member of The Worship Center of Indy. Her dedication to God, the church, and the community allowed her to establish “The Coffee House” through the church in 1999. She faithfully served the community through food, drink, and worship for many years before stepping down. She was an amazing cook, often showing her love through feeding others. Her infamous, and often oversized, meatloaf was her specialty along with macaroni and cheese, and her amazing chicken salad. Becky retired from Wayne Township schools after 20 years of dedicated service. Though all of these things describe Becky’s life, she will be remembered for her love of Jesus and her kind heart. She never met a stranger and would make friends every where she went. Her amazing, selfless heart wanted to help anyone in need from family to those she just met; she often placed others needs before her own. To Becky, family was everything and everyone was family once she met them. She was one of a kind and will be truly missed by all those who were blessed enough to meet her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Constance; brother, Larry; great-granddaughter, Emily; and lifetime best friend, Sue Tharp Ousley. Surviving to cherish her memory are loving husband of 63 years, Donald Tidd; children, LaDonna (Don) Brock, Rhonda (Jerry) Slayton, Brian (Darlene) Tidd, Faith (Bud) Price; brother, Brent (Shirley) Robbins; grandchildren, Josh (Erica) Throop, Adam (Sarah) Throop, Jessica (Derrek) Staton, Chelsie (Ben) Lam, Brian Jr (Taylor) Tidd, Matt Price, Stephanie (Kris) McCormick, Miranda (Brock) French; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Carter, Lincoln, Delilah, Brayden, JaiLynn, Shelbie, Cora, Kristopher, Hayden, Chloe, Paxton; great-great grandchild, Evelyn; her beloved fur baby, Princess, as well as a host of extended family members and friends who cherished Becky dearly.
