Rob Mccabe

Rob McCabe (Joe Robert McCabe II), 52, of Asheville, NC passed away on July 20, 2021 of natural causes. He was born on June 2nd, 1969 in Miami, FL.

Rob grew up in Florida and Greencastle, IN. He made residences in both the states of Oregon and Indiana as a young adult, before traveling and residing in many places throughout his life. Rob devoted himself to music and biblical/religious studies. His musical abilities were cultivated from his youth and he  avidly performed and recorded as a singer and songwriter. He had many academic pursuits, including completed programs and degrees from Great Commission School, Vincennes University and Portland Bible College and studies at Franciscan University of Steubenville, Marian University and Saint Joseph’s College of Maine. He was devoted to his religious convictions, the Catholic church, and his understanding of God above all other things.

He was a former Battle Captain in the U.S. Army and he was deployed to Mosul, Iraq in 2008 during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Rob had a great zeal and sense of humor which was evident in the many animated stories of all his adventures and use of movie quotes. Of all Rob’s endeavors, his great treasure was his children; AnnaRose, Mark and Samuel.

Rob is survived by his parents Joe (Anita) McCabe and Shelly (Carl) Muscarello; his children, AnnaRose (Rob) Girvin, Mark McCabe, Samuel (Katie) McCabe; his sister Lisa (Duane) Miller along with his step-siblings Tony (Cindy) Muscarello, Marie (Bruce) Hain, Elaine (Maurice) Embree, Todd Embree; and several step-nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are currently pending in the care of Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Pittsboro, Indiana.  All are encouraged to share thoughts, prayers, and memories with Rob's family on his memorial page found on the funeral home's website, www.ericmdbellfuneralhome.com .
