Robert Lloyd Anderson

Robert L. Anderson, 76 of Pittsboro, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on October 6, 2022, at IU West Emergency Room in Avon, Indiana.

Robert was born February 24, 1946, in Kankakee, Illinois, to Clarence and Pearl (O'Lena) Anderson. He graduated from Kankakee High School and joined the Navy where he faithfully served for four years. Following his discharge, he attended Governor's State University and Kankakee Community College where he received his degree in Criminal Justice. From 1974 through 1995, he was employed by the Kankakee Police Department. He worked in the patrol division as a senior crime scene analyst, a fingerprint specialist, and retired as a Detective Sergeant. His family relocated to Monticello, Indiana in 1995, where he worked as a Special Deputy with the White County Sheriff's Department. In 2018, they moved to Pittsboro, Indiana. On May 13, 1983, he married Kathleen Duis at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Kankakee, Illinois. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; his daughter, Sarah, and grandsons, Eli and Alex Mauck of Brownsburg, Indiana; his daughter, Christine, and grandchildren, Taylor and Logan Hedditch of Aroma Park, Illinois; his sister, Jeanne (Roger) Benjamin of Bourbonnais, Illinois; his brother, Ronald (Joyce) of Pittsboro, Indiana; his nieces, Jodi (Mike) Norton, Terri (Matt) Jones, Sally (Jeff) Reed, Nancy (Al) Hann, and Cynthia Ash; and his nephew, Ryan (Melissa) Ash. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Michael Anderson; and his nephew, Troy Anderson.

Robert was a member of the Brownsburg American Legion and the VFW.  His grandsons were the love of his life, and he enjoyed attending their football, basketball, and baseballs games, as well as fishing with them in the homestead ponds. He also enjoyed golfing and being with his beloved dog, Charlie.

Visitation will be on Friday, October 14, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Eric MD Bell Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Pittsboro, Indiana.  Services will follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial at Sparks Cemetery in Pittsboro, Indiana.
