Robert L Groover

ROBERT "BOB" L. GROOVER, age 94, of Pittsboro passed away November 23, 2016.

Bob was born in Pittsboro on November 27, 1921 the son of the late Glenn and Leota (Linton) Groover. He graduated in 1940 from Pittsboro High School. He married Janet (Amendt) Groover on January 22, 1966 in Brecksville, Ohio.

Bob served in WWII and was a member of the Pittsboro F&AM. He retired as a rural mail carrier from the Pittsboro Post Office. After he retired, he worked for Indianapolis Motor Speedway as a track tour bus driver. Bob was a life long member of the Pittsboro United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the DVA, Rural Letter Carriers and Pittsboro F&AM.

Survivors: Wife, Janet A. Groover; Daughters, Diana Youngman, Kay Ann Groover; 5 Grandchildren; 7 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great-Great Granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his Parents; 2 Sisters and 2 Brothers.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 28 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Pittsboro United Methodist Church. The Service will be held Tuesday, November 29 at 11 a.m. at the Church with interment to follow at Sparks Cemetery, Pittsboro, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pittsboro United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund.
