Ronald L. Suiter

Ronald L. Suiter, 83 of Pittsboro, passed away, December 23, 2017 in Hendricks Regional health, following a brief illness.

Ronald was born, December 24, 1933 in Crawfordsville, IN to Carl James and Dorothy (Custer) Suiter. He served his county in the United States Air Force and was a graduate of Purdue University where he studied Industrial Technology and Management.

He was employed by Indiana Bell as an Operations Manager until his retirement in 1988. He then went on to assist his wife in her Ceramic Studio for many years. Ronald was a member of the Pittsboro Baptist Church and the F&AM Lodge.

He had a passion for aviation and technology. He built and flew his own ultralight aircraft. He will be fondly remembered as the first man in Pittsboro with a VCR, and for his videography of the Pittsboro Sesquicentennial.

Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Sally (Carver) Suiter; children, Mark David (wife Michelle Morrical) Suiter and Jodie Suzanne (husband Bob) Smith; daughter-in-law, Lana Peters; sisters, Carlyn Bradley and Marilyn Suiter; grandchildren, Katlin, Mitch, Madison, Gracie, Max, Tommy and Julia; and great-granddaughter, Mia Rose.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jim and David Suiter.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial gifts may be directed to the Anna’s Celebration of Life for the building of the Wheel Chair Accessible Glider Swing in the Pittsboro Town Park.

Friends and family will gather from 4 pm until 7 pm Thursday, December 28 in the David A. Hall Mortuary. Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Friday, December 29 at the Mortuary, with Pastor Brock Evans officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Sparks Cemetery in Pittsboro.
