Rosemary Fortner

Rosemary Fortner, 79 of Pittsboro, IN passed away peacefully on July 14, 2019 in her home, in the care of her large and loving family.

Rosemary was born to Ewing and Sylvia (Call) Martin on December 24, 1939 in Rockville, Indiana. She was a graduate of Rockville High School, where she attended Hoosier Girls State and was the Salutatorian of her class.  She married Roger Ray Fortner in Montezuma, IN, a long and loving marriage that would last until his passing on May 2, 2015.

She was a loving homemaker to her family and was a caregiver for children for many years. She was an avid sports fan, and greatly enjoyed IU Athletics and Cubs Baseball.

She is survived by her children, Andy (wife Carrie) Fortner, Leslie (husband Brian) Hawkins, and Rebecca Hasani; siblings, Ernie Martin, Trudy Smith, and Jeannette Martin; eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and loving husband she was preceded in death by her siblings, Gerald Martin, Virginia Morgan, June Thomas, Martha Livengood, Barbara Medley, Charles Martin, and Jane Martin.

Friends and family will gather from 4pm until 7pm, Thursday, July 18 in the David A. Hall Mortuary, Pittsboro, IN. Graveside Services will be held at 11 am, Friday, July 19 in the Memory Garden Cemetery, Rockville, IN.

Memorial gifts have been suggested to the Hendricks County Humane Society and the American Cancer Society.
