Sharon (Johnson) Foster

The following is an obituary written by Sharon's loving family.

Sharon Kay Foster, 83, Indianapolis passed away on February 24, 2024, peacefully holding her daughter’s hand and surrounded by family as she went to heaven.

Sharon was born on May 11, 1940, in Madison, Indiana and graduated from Manual High School. She owned many businesses throughout her life including Foster Industrial Sales in Indianapolis, Dairy Queen, and Tastee Freeze in Alabama alongside her late husband, Charles Leroy Foster. She also worked at Herf Jones. She lived life to the fullest, enjoying being with her family, fishing, dancing, singing, garage sales, shopping, cooking, trying new recipes, and taking trips with her family.

Sharon is survived by her sons, Charles Leroy Foster Jr. and Kevin Lee Foster; and daughter Carla Jo Leathers (Lloyd); 10 grandchildren, Sarah Johnson (Cleveland), Tasha Ponce (Jesse), Kiera Foster, Blake Foster, Allison Foster, Kevin Foster Jr. (Mandi), Calla Burke (Zach), Jeffery Everman (Christina), Daniel Leathers (Rainey), and Rachael Leathers; as well as her sister, Bettie Wedding (C.W.); and many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren who blessed Sharon’s life. She also had 2 precious yorkies, Bear and Rusty, who miss her.

Preceding Sharon in death is her husband, Charles Leroy Foster; parents, Delmer and Delphia Johnson; sister, Shirley Knight; brother, Kendall Johnson; and great-granddaughter, Ariella Foster.

Friends and family will gather at Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home in Pittsboro, Indiana, on Sunday, March 17, 2024, for visitation from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm.
