Tonya Annette Perry

Tonya Annette Perry, 53 of Lizton, Indiana went home to be with the Lord on October 27, 2021.  She was surrounded by her loving and devoted family.

Friends and family will gather on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 from 4 pm until 7 pm at Eric M.D. Bell Funeral Home in Pittsboro, Indiana.  The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 10 am at Venture Church in Lizton, Indiana, where all are invited to gather together one hour prior to the service.  Tonya will be laid to rest in K of P Cemetery in Lizton, Indiana following the service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund, in Tonya’s name, is being created to gather funds to help other women of our community fight ovarian cancer, envelopes will available at the funeral home and church, please make payments payable to the Perry family, so they can direct gifts to the memorial fund when it is established.

Tonya Perry

Tonya Perry loved her job at the Lizton Town Hall as the town's Clerk Treasurer for over 16 years. She said she wasn't a workaholic but that she just loved her job and she loved being able to be a part of the town and helping it grow. She worked hard up until the Friday before her passing. She did it to do her part to provide for her family but also because she loved her community. She also worked at IU West Physical Therapy for 5 years where she had the unique ability of meeting patients with a smile on her face at 6am.  She left IU West in August of 2020 to work full time for the Town of Lizton.

Tonya's most cherished job and proudest accomplishment was being a stay-at-home mom. Tonya enjoyed spending time at the ballfield and at her kids' events. She ran Tri-West Youth Football Cheer while her husband coached the boys and ran the Tri-West Youth Football League. She took tremendous pride in being able to "run the kids around". She loved being able to feed the boys the night before their big games as part of the Tri-West Quarterback Club and then cheering hard for them every Friday night;  post game parking lot parties were a joy with all of the families and mom loved them all. Her happy place was in the passenger seat on car rides with her family to the kids' events, to church, to see friends and family, or when going on vacation. She loved being able to look back and take a picture of all of the kids in the back seats. She loved her trips to Wisconsin to go to Madison for Badger football games and on our way UP North for family fishing trips - where she didn't fish but enjoyed being able to lay out and read on the boat. She also enjoyed going to town to take the girls shopping and to do the laundry at the various laundromats that Aunt Jennifer and the girls could find, so that they could let the boys have a day to "really get to fish" because it was important to her that they got to spend time to do what they enjoyed together.

Some of her most favorite times include being able to spend time with the Angel and her beautiful new granddaughter Maeleigh Jo on her lunch break, taking naps together, and  leaving early to go to Starbucks to get a venti Carmel frappichino... with extra Carmel drizzle so that she could drink it before they saw dad. Mom loved getting together for shopping days with the girls: Fair on the Square, Hob Knob, Covered Bridge Festivals, local arts and crafts. She was an expert family craft and game night planner. She enjoyed planning them and being sure that we had all the craft supplies we could ever need - always looking for a new family tradition to start but also keeping all the old tradions sacred and going. She made it a point for each of us to say what we were thankful for when at the table for Thanksgiving. Mom typically was thankful for all of us and Dad and she made sure to not leave out the cats. She always wanted to know what everyone wanted for Christmas months in advance and Christmas Eve pajamas and coloring books were a must.

Mom was ALWAYS trying to make it special, and she always did just that. She lived a special life and was special to a lot of people. She was able to share her faith and testimony to anyone and everyone with a smile on her face even as she went through her battle with her ovarian cancer. Mom won and is a beautiful Angel in Heaven watching over all of us.

We hope that she will be remembered by those who got to enjoy her presence. She will be celebrated by her parents, Tony and Barbara Maynard, her siblings and their spouses, Toni Anne and Dave Thaxton, Trina and Mike Cox, Robin and Candi Maynard, and her sister-in-law and her husband, Jennifer and Herbie Blevins, as well many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband, Philip Edwin Perry;  married November 13th, 1993; her son and his wife, Rick and Lauren Perry; her daughter and her husband, Angel and Kevin Groves and their daughter, Maleigh; and her son and fiancé, Pk Perry and Laci Baumer. Her memory will kept alive and shared with all generations in her family yet to come.
