Uree Marlene Kincaid, born in 1937, a former Lizton, Indiana resident, residing in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, passed into glory Sunday, March 29, 2020.
She was born to Ernest and Ruth Dickman. Upon the death of her mother, the extended family struggled to care for her and her brother, Burt Dickman. Roy and Irene Fox of Elkhart, Indiana adopted her at the age of two and provided a loving home for her.
She married Garland Kincaid and had two children, Mark and Denise. Uree and Garland spent 10 years in missionary service in Mexico.
When they were a young couple, they were setting out to move from Indiana to Los Angeles in their 1949 Plymouth. They discovered that they simply did not have enough room to take all of their books with them. But resourceful Uree was determined to find a way. The trunk was already filled with their belongings, but she decided that they could take out the back seat and fill it up with all their books. Sometime after arriving in Los Angeles with everything, they eventually obtained another backseat.
Uree was a loving, creative, devoted wife, mother, and friend who touched many lives with her gift-giving, church-cleaning, helping the needy, and showing hospitality to many. She trusted Jesus Christ for her salvation and asked Him for ways to love others as she had been loved by Him and adopted into His big family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Ernest and Ruth Dickman; her brother, Burt Dickman; her adoptive parents, Roy and Irene Fox; her loving husband and partner of 52 years, Garland Kincaid; and their daughter Denise Bryant, who in the last 12 months of her own life sacrificed much to love and serve her mother.
Uree will be laid to rest privately next to her husband.
Arrangements have been entrusted to funeral director Eric M.D. Bell of Pittsboro. All are encouraged to share thoughts and prayers with Uree's family on her memorial page found on the funeral home's website, www.davidahallmortuary.com
