Verna Mae Love, 92 of Pittsboro, passed away unexpectedly, September 6, 2017 in Hendricks Regional Hospital, Danville, IN.
Verna was born November 29, 1924 in Weir, Mississippi to Charles Alvin and Katie Lee (Crenshaw) King. She wed James Bailey Love on May 11, 1946 in Memphis, Tennessee a marriage that would last until his passing in 1980. She was a caring homemaker to her large and loving family and belonged to the Pittsboro Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, James Alvin (wife Diana), Ronnie (wife Brenda), Roger Wayne (wife Karen), Charles Ray (wife Carolyn), Jerry (wife Karen), and Betty (husband Jim) Kirk; brothers, Travis (wife Dorothy) King, C.A. (wife Betty Jean) King, and Bennett (Mary) King; sisters, Pauline Hanks and Bobbie (husband Mancel) Box; 11 Grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.
In addition to her parents, and loving husband, she was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.
Friends and family will gather from 4 pm until 7 pm, Monday, September 11 in her church home, Pittsboro Baptist Church. Funeral services will be at 10 am, Tuesday, September 12 in the church. Following the funeral service, she will be laid to rest next to her husband, in the K of P Cemetery, Lizton.
