W. Devon Jackson

January 31, 1933 — March 15, 2019

W. Devon Jackson, 86 of Pittsboro, passed away peacefully in his home, March 15, 2019 with his loving family by his side.

Mr. Jackson was born January 31, 1933 in Jamestown, Indiana to Walter and Ruth (Weaver) Jackson. He attended Jamestown and Brownsburg Schools and graduated from Pittsboro High School in 1950.

He was an active farmer from 1948 until 2016.  In addition to his farming career he served in the Indiana National Guard for over six years. He was a member of the Northwest Hendricks County School Board for eight years, four of which he served as the Board Chairman, it was during this time he was honored to give the Address at the opening of Tri-West High School, and be voted a Leader of Education. In addition to his time on the School Board he served eleven years on the Zoning Board, serving as it’s chairman for five of those years.

He belonged to the White-Lick Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Joann Cornwell; daughters, Lissa (husband Jim) Broyles, Linda (husband Ron) Perkins; step-son, Chris (Barb) Cornwell; step-daughter, Paula (husband Al) Snyder; brother-in-law, Johnny Hill; grandchildren, Todd (wife Nicole) Broyles, Tosha (husband Jon) Herr, Casey Hall, Carrie (husband Steve) Daniels, Aaron (wife Abby) Cornwell, Austin (wife Megan), and Andrew Cornwell, Helee (husband Rick) Adkins, Kearstin Chriswell, Courtney (husband Nick) Carr, Kayla (husband Matt) McCoy; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Jeannine M. (Hill) Jackson and siblings, Virginia, Helen, Gene, Bob and Charlie Jackson, and step-daughter Dianna Chriswell.

Friends and family will gather from 4pm until 7pm, Monday, March 18, 2019 in the David A. Hall Mortuary, Pittsboro, where funeral services will be held at 10 am, Tuesday, March 19.

He will be laid to rest next to his wife Jeannine in the Lizton K of P Cemetery.

While flowers are appreciated Memorial gifts are suggested to the Pittsboro Fire Department, The American Heart Association, or The National Kidney Foundation.
