Mildred Maxine Smith

Maxine Smith, 91, of Pittsboro passed away on August 30, 2016.

Maxine was born on May 26, 1925 in Whitestown, Indiana the daughter of Earl and Opal (Scott) Byrkett. She married Charles D. Smith in October 1942.

She was a graduate of Whitestown High School and a long time member of the Pittsboro United Methodist Church. She was an Office Manager at Indiana State Nurses Association retiring in 1981.

Survivors: Husband, Charles D. Smith; Sons, Charles D. Smith, Jr., Lee Smith; Daughters, Suzie Davidson (Tom), Kathryn Jean Smith (Deceased); Sisters, Imogene Ruth Edens, Cora Mae Riddle (Deceased); 9 Grandchildren; 19 Great Grandchildren; and 5 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 2 from 9 to 11 a.m. with the Service to follow at the Pittsboro United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pittsboro United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund.
